Rocko belongs to the family known as Grammostola Rosea or Chilean Rose, one of the more common species used for pets. To date, there are over 900 confirmed species of Theraphosidaes, otherwise known as His stiffened legs, his arched opisthosoma (abdomen) with his hairs standing on ends lets you know he wants to play he wants to eat. Does he need water, is it time for him to start moulting, is he in a good mood? When was the last time you fed him? “Good morning Rocko.” You obviously won’t get a response, just a death like stare. His fury legs will stiffen and contract, pressing his body upward standing tall for your inspection.
When you enter the room, you become his center of attention as he steps out to greet you. His tiny pitch black eyes, the size of little needle tip pricks on your skin. You won’t see his eyes unless you get close but you will most certainly feel their gaze upon you, all 8 of them. His only entertainment is when he watches shaking people attempt to approach his clear plastic home, only to shrivel up and shiver in fear at the sight of him. He can’t fetch, or shake, or roll over although he has tried.

After all, he can’t really operate a hamster wheel, or swim through a decorative plastic castle. He’ll wait with his eyes fixed to the living room door for you to come in and say hello. He is usually awake long before you are but he is very patient, he’ll wait silently.
